3rd Grade ACCESS Testing - March 3rd and March 4th
VCS will remain in the remote learning model throughout the remainder of the third quarter.
We ask that you encourage your child to turn on his/her camera when the teacher requests. There are many moments throughout the lesson where the teacher is checking in with students non-verbally to ensure they understand. When our teachers can't see your student they can't be sure your child understands. We are also finding that when the camera is off the child seems to not be there as they often aren't responding at all. Please also try to remove or turn off other electronics, TVs and video games, from the work area. We appreciate your support on this matter.

Thank you for your generous contributions!
Attendance in every class every day is essential for your child's academic growth. Please make sure to call the front desk at 303-338-4110 when your child will be or has been absent from class. You will receive an automated phone call in the evening if your child was absent from any classes throughout the day if you do not call in to notify us of the absence. You may email teachers to get make up work, but call the front desk, as well.
Our core virtue for March is faithfulness. Faithfulness is standing by those we love, those we serve, and what we believe. It's a vital trait in helping us move beyond serving just ourselves, build our communities, and sense the needs of others. With faithfulness, we become willing to work together and march through difficult situations together. Faithfulness encompasses love, dedication, and duty.

My name is Kari Ouellette and I'm so excited for my next year here at Vanguard. I grew up in a small town in Conneticut, and graduated from Ohio State University with a major Early and Middle Childhood Studies and a minor in Disability Studies. In my spare time, I love to go hiking with my dog, Koda, and explore what Colorado has to offer.
My name is Alyssa Howell, I am one of the three teachers on Team 3 at Vanguard Classical School. I graduated from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO with a Bachelor’s degree in Dance. I then received my Master’s of Arts in Teaching with a focus in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, teaching dance, and feeding the giraffes at the zoo. My fiancé and I also enjoy going to the dog park and cuddling with my adorable Golden-doodle puppy, Aspen.
My name is Kasey Frey and this is my seventh year of teaching Third grade at Vanguard. I have had the pleasure of seeing the school grow tremendously over that time. I hold a bachelors and masters degree in elementary education and look forward to using those degrees and a strong love of organization to serve your kids! In my spare time, I enjoy being outside, exercising and spending quality time with my two dogs and new son, Micah! He was born in August of this year and has greatly enriched my life!
My name is Ryan Seaman and this is my fifth year here at Vanguard Classical School, and I am the third grade education assistant. I grew up in Longmont, Colorado and recently moved to Aurora to get closer to my work. In my spare time I enjoy going to the mountains, hanging out with friends and family and playing games. My favorite part of working at Vanguard is spending time with the amazing staff and students, one day I hope to one day get my teaching license and become a teacher at Vanguard.
