Your student should be logging in frequently to check their grades. Here is a slide show to remind them how to log in. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Tara and she can get your student their log in information.
Parents, please make sure that you're signing up for Class Dojo. We send most communication through Dojo messenger, so you won't want to miss out on important information. You can either download the Class Dojo app on your phone or just use the web browser. Each Class has their own unique code, so make sure to ask your student who their homeroom teacher is. Salutations! My name is Tommy Milo. I’m a graduate from the University of Northern Colorado’s class of 2020, and I’m thrilled to get started here at Vanguard! My theatrical background has instilled in me a passion for applicable and personalized education that I try to pepper into every aspect of my classroom in hopes that my pupils may take away just as much compassion and growth as I did from my own most fondly remembered teachers. I’m ecstatic to have the privilege of learning more about myself and my peers to be in this position.
My name is Ellie Popelka and this is my first year at VCS. Before joining the VCS team, I got my bachelor’s of arts in psychology from the University of South Carolina where I played division one volleyball for a portion of my college years. I also have a master’s degree in teaching elementary education from the University of Virginia. I have experience working with many different types of learners from preschool to high school ages. Social studies has always been a passion of mine since I was in primary school and I am so excited to teach it in my own classroom. When I’m not in school, I enjoy going on walks with my dog, exploring Colorado, and trying out new restaurants in the Denver area. I am so thrilled and honored to join the 5th and 6th grade team here at VCS East!Email
My name is Jenny Young, and this is my first year here at Vanguard Classical School. Before joining the VCS team, I taught 5th & 6th grade writing at Cherry Creek Academy for five years, and prior to that, I taught for 21 years in the same school where I had done my student teaching, Glennon Heights Elementary, in Jefferson County. I earned my bachelor’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado, and I have a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. I consider myself very lucky to make a living doing something I truly love. I have three children. Kevin is 22, Kyle is 19, and my baby girl Savannah is 9. I play and coach volleyball, and I love to watch football, especially the Florida Gators and the Denver Broncos. I am extremely excited to join the strong 5th grade team and look forward to getting to know your child(ren).Email
My name is Lindsey Henke, and I will be starting my third year teaching fifth grade at Vanguard Classical School. Prior to teaching at VCS, I attended Ottawa University where I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. When I graduated I thought that I wanted to teach lower elementary, but I have fallen in love with fifth grade and it has become my love and passion. Outside of school I love to be active. I go to the gym daily and spend my weekends rock climbing, hiking with my pup or skiing. I believe that leading a healthy lifestyle and being active outside of school allows me to have the energy and focus in the classroom.Email
My name is Tara Canutt, and I am a 5/6th grade Educational Assistant at Vanguard Classical School East. I am entering my third year at VCS. Outside of school I spend my time with my children going on adventures, baking and cooking, but mostly crafting!
