Ms. Sobol is a first grade teacher at Vanguard Classical School. She is originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. In 2006, Ms. Sobol moved here to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she graduated with a degree in psychology. For over a decade, Ms. Sobol worked with students in elementary and early childhood education. Recently, she earned her master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Colorado. Ms. Sobol loves seeing the smile on her student's faces and is extremely excited to be a part of the first grade team!
EmailMrs. Bateman is a first grade teacher who has been with VCS-West for 4 years. She graduated from Louisiana Statue University but keeps up with her Colorado professional license. As a bright eyed kindergarten, Mrs. Bateman knew she wanted to be a teacher. In college she began working at a preschool. After graduation she worked two years at an international school before finding her way to us here at VCS-West in Colorado! On the weekends she enjoys knitting, sewing, and gardening.
EmailAlex Garsez is a first grade Educational Assistant. He has a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science from MSU Denver. He has been an Educational Assistant for second grade as well, and helped substitute teach for many of the classes throughout the school. He also coaches the Youth Rapids Soccer Club, and enjoys all the Colorado outdoorsy activities!
