Head Soccer Coach - Boy/Girls
I’d like to this time to introduce myself. My name is Malik Lee, and I am the head soccer coach for Vanguard Classical School. I’m SO excited to start our upcoming soccer season! I have lived in the Denver, North Park neighborhood for of over 15 years. I moved to Colorado from San Francisco over 20 years ago to pursue a variety of outdoor adventures from skiing, to rock climbing , to mountain biking and camping to name a few. I'd describe myself as someone who
loves to live life & explore new adventures!!
I have played this amazing game of soccer for over 25 years. My soccer career started in Cuba where I was born, but it really develop in California during my high school years. I was fortunate enough to play soccer for all 4 years of high school, which lead me to play soccer at the semipro level following high school, and into my late 20’s. Throughout my career I have been blessed to have amazing coaches who have taught me the importance of teamwork, the
importance of game tactics, respect for the game, the importance of conditioning and fitness, but most importantly these coaches instilled the definition of T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More). The mantra, T.E.A.M, is what is at the core of Vanguard Soccer. As a coach, I insist that all my players understand that they are student-athletes, and that means academics come before athletics. I will educate to all our athletes that athletics is a privilege, not a right. Utilizing this T.E.A.M mantra as a coach, for over 10 years, has awarded my teams conference champions, divisions championship, but most importantly it has developed T.E.A.M skills that every athlete will use well beyond the field! My hope and vision is to teach all of our athletes these critical skills sets that will lead our T.E.A.M toward success, on and off the field.
